8/11/11 Fulton Ranch Community Seeks Yoga Studio
The Promenade at Fulton Ranch (located at the northwest corner of Chandler Heights and Alma School) is finalizing a lease with a regional Fitness Club to join the shopping center. As a complimentary use to the fitness, The Promenade at Fulton Ranch is seeking a Yoga studio to join the center and serve the fitness clientele and the surrounding community. The nearest Yoga Studio to the community is over 5 miles to the north. The Fulton Ranch community and the surrounding area are home to a majority of the employees of the Price Corridor bio-tech and hi-tech industries with strong household incomes and a desire to stay fit. The new Fitness Club is a regional club and typical clubs draw between 5,000 and 8,000 members. The Promenade at Fulton Ranch has built out space available and is interested in speaking to Yoga studio operators who have interest in joining this underserved market.

3/31/11 I am looking for a female yoga instructor to come to my home to give me a private one hour yoga session. I live in South Chandler and am a SWF 43. I have no kids or pets so there will be peace and quiet and no distractions. Or if you have a studio or home or some other venue we can use that will be fine too. I have taken Anusara yoga classes in the past. I have not really done a lot of yoga in the past 5 years. I just want to get back into it for the obvious reasons: health, better posture, stress release, and the mind body spirit connection. Depending on how much you charge I was interested in once or twice a week sessions. 3/15/11 The Arizona Yoga Association sympathizes and sends prayers of hope and strength to the citizens of Japan.

Donations can be made to the American Red Cross through MoveOn.Org

The Red Cross operates 92 hospitals in Japan and has deployed 700 medical relief volunteers across the country already.

3/15/11 The Tucson Science of Spirituality Meditation Group is holding meditation classes at Spirits Child Center, 3870 W. River Rd., #120 (corner of River and Orange Grove, off of I-10), from 1-2:30 p.m., Sundays: March 27, April 3, 10 and 17. There is also a spiritual meeting held each Sunday on those dates, from 2:30-4. These consist of 1/2 hr. meditation with readings and DVD clips on a spiritual topic. Every Monday 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm : Guided meditation followed by a brief, optional Q&A session. The meditations are designed to allow a complete beginner to follow along. No registration required. Just drop in and have a seat. There is no fee, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Every Thursday at 6:00 pm: Meditation Class with Upasaka Culadasa. Question and answer period, silent meditation followed by a dharma talk. By donation.

We have a Yoga Club at Sahuaro HS (Camino Seco between B’way and speedway) that meets on Tuesdays from 2:30 -3:30. We are requesting volunteers to come lead our practice. If someone wants to come once or more often that is great. The students are a willing and appreciative group of 6-12 teenagers that meet each Tuesday. Where is the location? Fort Huachuca at the Family Fitness Facility

How long is the class? 60 minutes

How much is paid? negotiable based on experience.

How many students may attend the class? 15-20 students, but may be as low as 5 in a class (normally close to a holiday)

Would this be for students in general health and physical fitness? The class is open to all MWR patrons, but is not directed toward any particular community (no pregnancy/ post partum, wounded warrior, etc). It is a general fitness class.

We are wondering if you or someone else you know would like to volunteer at Sahuaro high school and instruct us on how to do yoga.
